Education Passport

Our Education Passport Program helps remove one of the biggest barriers to education in Haiti- cost. In many Haitian families, fathers are traditionally the primary financial providers. When a husband unexpectedly leaves or passes away, the responsibility of caring for children often falls entirely on the mother or widow, creating an overwhelming financial burden. Because most schools in Haiti require tuition and fees, many families simply cannot afford to keep their children enrolled.

 

The reality is that education access is extremely limited, only about 23% of students complete secondary school, and in some estimates fewer than 5% of young people graduate from high school.  Through the Education Passport Program, sponsors come alongside these mothers to help cover tuition, uniforms, books, and essential school supplies. By easing this burden, we help ensure children can stay in school, continue learning, and pursue opportunities that can transform not only their future, but the future of their families and communities.

Be Part of a Child’s Story

Each child in our Education Passport Program is prayerfully chosen based on significant life circumstances for moms that have made paying tuition for their children difficult. We believe school sponsorship is a hand up, not a handout—a way to equip children with the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a better future.

 

As it says in the Bible, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress” (James 1:27). When you sponsor a student, you help mamas provide the tuition payment and supplies their children need to stay in school and continue pursuing the future God has for them.
