Our Feeding the Five Program was born out of a very real need. A church member shared how many families in our community had taken in relatives, friends, and even strangers fleeing the gangs of Port-au-Prince. These generous households were already struggling to feed their own families, and now they were stretching every bit of food to care for those with no roof over their heads, no money in their pocket, and no jobs to earn an income.

In response, we created a program that provides occasional food kits, and we do it with dignity. Families receive a ticket, which they redeem at a local depot we partner with for essentials like rice, beans, and oil. This is not a handout, it’s a hand up in a time of urgent need, a way to bless those who are already blessing others by opening their homes.

Just as Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes to feed the 5,000, our Feeding the Five Program provides life-giving provision to meet a critical need, showing that even small acts of generosity can be multiplied into miracles.

"What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." James 2-14-17.
