Hilltop Haven ~ The Full Story

From South to Central
In November 2024, we shared a vision with a local church about relocating from Jacmel to Pignon and invited them to help raise $5,000 for land for Hilltop Haven. That morning, $8,000 was given—fully covering the land and legal fees and confirming we were stepping into something bigger than ourselves.

Legally Ours!
On December 18, 2024, we visited a mountaintop property overlooking the city and immediately knew it was the place for Hilltop Haven- peaceful, elevated, and full of potential. Just nine days later, on December 27, we had the legal papers in hand. In a context where land transactions in Haiti are often slow and complex, this was nothing short of a miracle, God made a way quickly and clearly.

The Meaning Behind the Name
The name Hilltop Haven was prayerfully inspired by Psalm 50:10, reminding us that the Lord owns the land and provides abundantly for His purposes. Set on a peaceful hillside, the property felt like a sanctuary, set apart and full of promise.

The Announcement
On January 10, 2025, we made it official—we are building Hilltop Haven. What began as a dream and a piece of land moved into action as we shared the news with our community and invited partners to help lay the first bricks. This marked the beginning of a step of faith to create a space where women and girls will grow, gather, and be reminded of their God-given worth.

A Home That Fits- Designated With Purpose
As we began planning Hilltop Haven, we chose a design that would blend into the local community rather than stand out as extravagant. We partnered with a skilled local contractor from Pignon who understands the culture, climate, and character of the area. He designed a thoughtful structure that meets our needs while remaining accessible and welcoming, reflecting a home rooted in community and built with purpose.

A Gift of Land- Expanding the Vision
When we first purchased land, we secured six santiem with plans to eventually expand. Our initial vision was to build a combined mission home and pavilion, then separate them as the ministry grew. But God had other plans- the land owner, moved by the mission and heart for the community, gifted us additional land.
